Blue Bottle From a Small Pharmacy Prompts a Search for Answers

This was where I had kept my medicine for thirty years.

I opened the cupboard door, the old hinges creaking slightly in the quiet house.

The top shelf was empty now.

The blue bottle was gone, locked away in the evidence files of the state licensing board.

I placed the new amber bottle onto the shelf, right next to my small container of daily vitamins.
