First child under 12 dies by euthanasia after Netherlands expands assisted-dying law

under sedation, not from the violence of disease but from an act the law now calls mercy. The new rules demand that every other option be exhausted: no cure, no relief from constant, severe pain, no palliative care capable of making life bearable. Only then can a doctor, together with the parents and, when possible, the child, choose euthanasia.
