Curren did not look at the cameras or the reporters who were still shouting questions from the gallery. He sat with his hands flat on the polished wood, his eyes fixed on the empty space where the other council members had been sitting.
“Lydia,” Raymond said, touching my arm. “The hallway is clear.”
“I will meet you at the car, Raymond,” I said.
